This past Sunday, November 10, 2013, over 330 guests gathered to enjoy a lovely five-course meal at Buffet Amiens in St-Leonard. The annual fundraising banquet – Cavatelli fatti con cuore alla Castelgrandese – featured a cavatelli pasta dish kneaded with love earlier in the day by fifty women and one gentleman. The volunteers were hard at work from 7:00AM to 10:00AM in the banquet hall’s kitchen. The collective kneaded a total of 70 pounds of dough!
This year’s banquet was in honor of Frank Ruvo, with proceeds from the banquet being donated to the Fonds d’enseignement et de recherche en Hématologie et oncologie médicale de l’Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont. The total raised? Over $15,000! A grand success! Congratulations to all the organizers and volunteers!
